This post was supposed to be dedicated to a The Dark Knight Rises review, a film that is sure to be one of the best movies of the summer. But, thanks to a red-headed shitbag with a gun and a name to make, I can’t do that. I can’t, in good conscience, write my review before I express my thoughts on this most repugnant of repugnant acts.

I don’t want to sound dogmatic, but I can’t describe it any other way. To me, the theater is a sacred place. It is that place where you go to unwind and relax. You hope to be taken away from the real world for a few hours at a time. There, your stress should be left at the door and your mind should be left wide open, like a sponge that is ready to absorb.

That sanctity was shattered when this fuck ass’d nobody walked into that theater in Colorado and started shooting. Those people who survived will live their lives with reluctance from now on, probably never thoroughly enjoying a movie in a theater again. To some, that may not seem substantial. But, to the avid moviegoer, that hurts.

This boy, this pathetic boy is not the start of a movement. Other than his family, there is no one else standing at his side. There aren’t more attacks coming. This child is not The Joker, for the Joker is a fictional character. The Joker will never pay for his crimes because they are all fictional, but this germ’s crimes are very real and very serious.

To show this amoeba that we are not afraid of his cowardly form of thuggery, we need to get back to the theaters and we need to get back to watching the movies we love. To us movie-going nerds, the best way to honor the memories of those who died is to play armchair patriots and watch those movies that they never will.

Above all else, we shouldn’t give this fool the credit and recognition that he thinks that he deserves. He wants us to believe that he is insane and that he deserves a white-padded cell at some comply institution somewhere. But, I think his punishment must be more severe.

How about we send him to a real-life Arkham Asylum? How about we enact a Batman-like justice on him? How about we shelf the death penalty for this worm and sentence him to a lifetime of watching over his back, waiting to be beat to within an inch of his life by men much tougher and more frightening than he. He is just a coward with a gun in a room of unarmed people. Let’s see how long he lasts without his weapons and body armor.

You see, this narrow scrotum’d douche bag made a serious mistake when he decided to call himself “The Joker.” He showed how ignorant he was of the Batman Universe and what it means to be a villain in it. To be a villain in Batman’s world, you must accept the fact that no matter how hard you try and how many people you hurt along the way, you will always lose.

Even if you are The Joker.

In closing, my heart goes out to the friends and families hurt by this vile act. I can’t begin to imagine the pain and anguish you must be feeling right now. There is no amount of words that I could write that will ease your aching heart. Time must do that. Justice will do that, and that is exactly what you’ll get in the coming months. It is what you all deserve. It is what your fallen family and friends deserve.
